WNCRAQA Seeks Volunteers for Advisory Committee - May 2007

The Western North Carolina Regional Air Quality Agency Board is seeking volunteers to serve on an advisory committee. The Board is looking for individuals from a variety of backgrounds, talents, and interests that can provide public input on air quality related matters. Individuals with vocations and interests in areas including but not limited to engineering, chemistry, meteorology, environmental advocacy, business and industry, tourism, education, public health and science are encouraged to participate. The primary role of the committee is to provide assistance to the Agency and Board. This includes, but is not limited to the following: researching specific projects and making recommendations to the Board and/or Agency, providing technical information within the expertise of committee members, assisting with reviewing materials to be released to the press or included on the website, drafting editorial letters, helping to gauge public reaction to proposed new regulations and programs, and assisting and promoting the work of the Agency. The committee meets bimonthly on the third Tuesday. The WNC Regional Air Quality Agency is responsible for air quality permitting and enforcement in Asheville and Buncombe County. Those interested in serving on the committee are asked to send a letter of interest by July 6th to Dr. Dean Kahl, WNCRAQA Board, 49 Mount Carmel Road, Asheville, NC 28806. Please include information about your background and interest in the air quality agency.
