Paddlefest for Autism

Stand Up for Autistm is a great paddle boarding event that’s in its second year here in Buncombe County – to raise both awareness and funding for autism programs and research.

It’s taking place on Saturday, August 19 beginning at 9am at Wild Wing Café at 65 Long Shoals Road in Asheville. This event is sponsored by Diamond Brand, Buncombe County Recreation Services, and Wild Wing Café. This is a 3-mile paddleboard race for the competitive and noncompetitive alike. So if you want to race, do your best, but if you just want a scenic 3 mile paddleboard around Lake Julian, you can do that too.

If you register you can pick up your packet early at Wild Wing Café on Friday, August 18 – where you can join them for live music, craft drinks, food, and raffle prizes.
