The Buncombe County Tax Department is in the process of upgrading the appraisal software. During this upgrade citizens will experience a delay in receiving updated parcel data. Parcel data will continue to be available on the tax and GIS website.
The available parcel data is currently effective as of January 5, 2016. Ownership data and parcel numbers will not be updated during this upgrade. We currently expect to begin updating the parcel data on February 15, 2016.

All other departments, register of deeds, building permits, addressing, and GIS will be fully operational. This delay will have no effect on ability to record a deed, apply for a building permit, or obtain an address. If you have any concern related to services provided by those departments please contact those departments directly.
