Educational & Fun: 15 Middle School Students Enjoy Camp WILD

This year’s Middle School Camp WILD was a success! 15 middle school students from eight different schools in Buncombe County joined under the common goal of environmental stewardship. The four-day camp included stream ecology, falconry, and team building. Camp WILD gives students an opportunity to explore local sights and attractions in WNC while learning about how to conserve, protect, respect, and enjoy the wilderness. See below for more information from parents of this year's Camp WILD.

“Thank you for making Camp WILD both educational and fun!” – Neggy and Gabe Fox

“This was an incredible hands-on learning experience for them.  From the stream exploration to the sustainable farming tour to the team building activities this was just an awesome experience for my daughters." – Danny Fusco

“I just wanted to send a quick note of thanks for the summer camp opportunity that you all hosted. My daughter really enjoyed the experience. She is a hands-on kid and this was such a highlight for her. She talked about the activities non-stop after picking her up. Thank you so much for providing this educational and fun experience for middle schoolers.” – Stacie Saunders

Thank you to all the partners of our environmental education programs.
