Open House at Sheriff Satellite Office - May 19

The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office will host an open house at its satellite office located at 339 Leicester Highway on Monday, May 19 from 5-7 pm. The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office relocated several divisions to this office last month including:

  • Patrol, Field Investigations
  • Crime Prevention
  • Reserves
  • SERV
  • Property Crime detectives
  • Sheriff’s Community Enforcement Team (SCET)

This is the first phase of moving for the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office; the remaining divisions of the Sheriff’s Office will move to the fourth floor of the new Judicial Complex located in downtown Asheville in the latter part of 2014. The move will provide a cost savings to Buncombe County residents and will increase community accessibility to the Sheriff’s Office.

“The Leicester Crossing satellite office is a building that was formally occupied by the Department of Social Services, and is a county-owned facility. The satellite office will be open to the public from 8 am-5 pm, and I will have appointment days at the Leicester Crossing office two days a week. We believe that this office will provide better accessibility to the public and help the Sheriff’s Office deliver better customer service to all our citizens,” Sheriff Van Duncan stated.
