The North Carolina Room at Pack Library has won the 2013 award for Collection Preservation Excellence from the North Carolina Preservation Consortium (NCPC). The award was presented in a ceremony at the William Friday Center in Chapel Hill on November 1. The NCPC cited the NC Room for a strong commitment to preserving local history in Buncombe County. According to Library Director Ed Sheary, “The North Carolina Room is tangible evidence of the significance that this public library attaches to the collection and preservation of the history of the community it serves.”
The North Carolina Room at Pack Library houses a fully cataloged collection of materials reflecting history, literature and life in Western North Carolina.
