UNC Asheville professor Dot Sulock will discuss the April 2011 nuclear plant meltdown at Fukushima, Japan on Thursday, November 7 at 7pm at the West Asheville Library. Ms. Sulock will detail the damage the reactor sustained from the earthquake and tidal wave, and ongoing efforts to deal with the ensuing melt-down of the site’s nuclear reactors, including the extreme challenge of removing 400 tons of spent fuel beneath the plant.
