The Justice System in Buncombe County continues to have an important role to play in reducing the impact of COVID-19 in our community. Since the onset of this public health pandemic, experts at the national, state, and local levels have stressed the importance of physical distancing to stop the spread of this virus. Physical distancing is difficult for all of us, but it presented the justice system, in particular, with unique a set of challenges.

Representatives from the NC Department of Public Safety, the Racial Justice Coalition, the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office and more will be speaking about the ways in which the justice community mobilized to keep inmates and court-goers safe during this uncertain time.
