CTS Update

EPA has granted CTS a 6-week extension to complete the contractor selection process for the Electrical Resistance Heating (ERH) component of the Interim Remedial Action. The extension will allow CTS to address technical issues (e.g. drilling, electrical availability, electrode spacing, waste generation/management, emissions controls, etc.) and to clarify components of the bid with the targeted ERH contractor. The ERH Preliminary Design is now due to EPA on Friday, September 29, 2017.  Even with this extension, the ERH component is expected to be constructed and completed by the end of 2018. This is consistent with the preliminary schedule that EPA previously approved in May 2017. EPA will sponsor a formal public meeting later this year to provide the community with more details regarding the TCE source remediation progress and schedule.
