Child Welfare in Buncombe County

At a recent Buncombe County Board of Commissioners' Meeting, Social Work Division Director Tammy Shook gave a presentation on Child Welfare in the State of North Carolina and Buncombe County (see above video). Topics of discussion include:

Child welfare is a constantly evolving process that is federally mandated, state supervised, and county administered through Health and Human Services. Health and Human Services believes it is essential to constantly evaluate and improve their child welfare practices to continually increase their efficiency and effectiveness.
