Assistant County Manager Jim Holland Announces Retirement

After nearly 30 years of service, Assistant County Manager Jim Holland has announced he will be retiring later this year. “One of the greatest joys of my life has been my employment with Buncombe County government. I began my career on October 15, 1990, as an Income Maintenance Caseworker for long-term care Medicaid,” says Jim. “It has been a great privilege to serve the people of this County and to work with such a dedicated group of County staff. I am excited about the next chapter in this County’s life under the management of Avril Pinder. Avril is a terrific individual and is the perfect leader for such a time as this.” Jim’s retirement date is set for July 1, 2019.
