Mountain Mobility continues to provide essential transportation services to Buncombe County citizens while doing its best to keep its customers and employees safe.
On April 16 at 3 p.m., Mountain Mobility drivers honked their horns as part of the national #SoundTheHorn campaign.
Mountain Mobility drivers first sounded their horns to thank healthcare professionals, first responders, grocery store clerks, pharmacy employees, gas station employees, and other heroes who are performing essential work during COVID-19. They sounded their horns again to thank public transportation workers across the United States who continue to work every day to provide transportation to essential employees and to citizens who depend on public transit to access essential services.
“We were glad to participate in the Sound the Horn campaign, supporting our transportation workers during COVID-19,” said General Manager, Elaina Carter.
The COVID-19 pandemic is unprecedented. Buncombe County recognizes the commitment of our Mountain Mobility staff to perform the essential task of transporting our citizens. “County operations and administrative staff are working together to safely provide life-sustaining medically necessary trips, grocery store and pharmacy trips, as well as transporting essential employees to work. This essential work, and what it means to our citizens, makes this staff and especially these drivers, heroes in our community” says Community Development Division Manager Matthew Cable.
