Is Your Heart Happy?

Join Buncombe County employees as we take the month of February to focus on heart health.

Keeping your heart healthy can improve the quality and length of your life. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States and is a major cause of disability. More than 616,000 people die of heart diseases in the U.S. each year. That is about 25% of all U.S. deaths.

Take a few minutes and watch this special edition of Buncombe Life. Hear the experiences of some of your neighbors, from our local health care professionals, and from first responders.

We hope that you will join Buncombe County employees as we wear red every Friday in February to support Heart Health awareness! We encourage everyone to know their numbers – blood pressure, cholesterol level and body mass index. These numbers can red flag a problem in your heart.
