Buncombe County is making it easier to access vital records by allowing citizens to request and pay for Birth, Death and 
Marriage certificates online. The certificate will be mailed without requiring a visit to the Register of Deeds' office.
It's easy, simply fill out the required info, upload a photo ID, complete the payment and the request will be processed within one business day. Buncombe County is one of the first Register of Deeds offices in the state to offer vital record certificates online. Please note that only births, deaths and marriages that occurred in Buncombe County can be requested.
This service has been created by the County's Information Technology Department working in conjunction with the Register of Deeds office. This is one more step toward making County government processes easier to use, access and understand. Online job applications, recreation activities, geographical information and mapping are all part of the County's work to make access to government easier.
