Mountain Mobility Shares in Festivities

Mountain Mobility participated in the 2016 Black Mountain Christmas Parade sponsored by the Black Mountain/Swannanoa Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, December 3rd.  Employees and some of their family members gave out 50 pounds of candy along the parade route.

Decked out in holiday wreaths and bows, Mountain Mobility displayed one of its newest fleet vehicles, a 17-passenger, lift-equipped 2016 Ford Light Transit Vehicle that operates on compressed natural gas (CNG).  Mountain Mobility is the first community transportation system in the state of North Carolina to use alternative fuel vehicles in a paratransit fleet.  Currently 53% of its fleet operates on CNG or propane alternative fuels.

Mountain Mobility has operated the Black Mountain Trailblazer Route since December 2002.  The Black Mountain Trailblazer provides public transportation services around the Black Mountain and Swannanoa communities, and offers connecting service to Asheville Transit (ART) bus at the Sutton Avenue Park-and-Ride lot in Black Mountain for service to downtown Asheville. The Black Mountain Trailblazer operates Monday through Saturday, 5:50 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.
