The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office Community Oriented Problem Solving (COPS) team will hold an initial community meeting at the Swannanoa Fire Station, Bee Tree Station on September 22 at 6 pm. The purpose of this meeting is to hear the community’s public safety concerns. The COPS team will be assigned to the Swannanoa community for the next 30 days. Sheriff Van Duncan, as well as several members of the Sheriff’s Office command staff, will be in attendance.
Each COPS Team works in a particular community for 30 days, identifying key issues, speaking with community leaders and residents in the community, creating an action plan, and then present their findings and suggestions to the community at the end of the 30 day period. Sheriff Van Duncan, as well as several members of the Sheriff’s Office command staff, will be in attendance at Monday’s meeting.
Sheriff Duncan and the COPS team look forward to meeting with members of the Swannanoa community on Monday.
