Buncombe
County Parks and Recreation Services offers six outdoor pools
located in all areas of Buncombe County.
The pools are open in June, July and the early
part of August. The water is heated at every pool!

Buncombe County Swimming Pools open May 27, 2006. All students get free admission on May 28 between 1 and 2 p.m. The pools will be open again on June 3 and 4. They will be closed June 5 and open for the Summer season beginning June 6.
Outdoor Pool Hours:
- Saturdays -- 11am - 6:45pm
- Sundays -- 1 - 6:45pm
- Starting June 6th, Monday - Friday -- 12noon - 5:45pm
Zeugner Center (Indoor) Pool Hours:
- Starting June 6th, Monday - Friday -- 12:30 - 4:30pm
- Saturdays -- 12noon - 4pm
- Sundays -- 1:30 - 5pm

#1 - June 19 - 29 (registration will begin
June 12 at noon) - Class times are 10am, 11am, and 6pm
- Session
#2 - July 17 - 27 (registration will begin July
10) - Monday through Thursday
- The cost is $25 per person per session. A $2.00 discount will be offered for families that have two or more family members enrolled. You must register and pay at the pool at which you will be attending.

- Everyone must shower before entering the pool
- Absolutely no running or horseplay in pool area
- Dunking, spitting, pushing, and shoulder riding are not allowed in the pool
- Diving from the side of the pool can only be done in the deep end or in water which is at least 6' deep
- Glass is not allowed in the pool area
- Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the premises
- To be in the deep end, person must swim the pool width; even if able to do so, decision is at the lifeguard's discretion
- Children under the age of 10 years of age must be accompanied by an adult
- Splashing or unnecessary talk with the lifeguard on duty may result in suspension of pool use
- Ladders are only for entering and exiting the pool
- The use of masks, fins, and snorkels is prohibited; swimming goggles are allowed, but only in water 5 feet or less
- Lifeguards must be obeyed
- Proper bathing attire required (at discretion of pool manager; T-shirts are not allowed unless approved by management)
- Buncombe County Parks & Recreation Services reserves the right to restrict entry into the facility when the facility is at capacity
- Diapers are not allowed in the pool, rubber pants with elastic legs are required
- No floats are allowed in the pool; arm floats/water wings are permitted as long as there is direct in-water supervision by an adult
- No pets allowed in pool area
- There will be no rain checks / refunds issued

All pools are available on a rental basis for parties. The cost is $60
per hour. This includes one lifeguard for 25 kids or less. There is
a $10 charge for additional lifeguards.
