Buncombe County Parks, Greenways and Recreation Services (BCPGR) is pleased to announce the continuation of the Community Recreation Grants program for fiscal year 2009-2010.
BCPGR provides grants for capital improvement/development projects to community organizations that support recreational and cultural arts activities as a primary component. This program is intended to be a financial assistance program and is not a donation or sponsorship opportunity. To be eligible to apply, an organization must be categorized as a nonprofit or be a community club recognized by Buncombe County and NC Cooperative Extension. All grant funds are allocated with the intent that they be used as seed money toward the cost of capital improvement projects for Buncombe County community recreation and cultural arts organizations.
Please pay close attention to the rules and regulations as several components have changed. All additions and changes made to the rules and regulations are listed in bold.
Please be reminded of the November 9th deadline. No late applications will be considered. The Community Recreation Grant Program Advisory Committee tentatively plans to submit their recommendations for grant recipients to the BCPGR Advisory Board in December. Your organization will be notified via mail within one week following Advisory Board’s decision.
