Summer Reading Program 2014: Fizz Boom, Read!

Fizz Boom, READ!

Readers of all ages will explore science this summer as Buncombe County Public Libraries presents “Fizz Boom, Read!” for the 2014 Summer Reading Program. Activities include science experiments, robot building, grossology fun, crafts and nature explorations at all 12 libraries across the county.

The 2014 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with books and activities for every age. The programs are free and open to children of all abilities. Come in and see what the library has for you - four visits and you earn a free book!

Start your summer off with a bang at the Summer Library Fest! Our annual summer reading kick-off party will feature science experiments with The Science House, cool stuff from the Asheville Makers, photo booths, wandering story characters and more! The Fest is Thursday, June 19 from 10 am to noon at Pack Library, and everyone is welcome.

We are also having a logo design contest for teens this summer. Help us design a logo for the Teen Library Collective (TLC)! Everyone who submits a design will be entered into a drawing to win an eReader. The person who designs the winning logo will also win an eReader. Enter at any library or email your creation to library@buncombecounty.org. All entries must be received by Saturday, July 26 at 5 pm.

To register for Fizz, Boom, Read! visit your friendly, neighborhood library. See you at the library this summer!
