Economic Services:
Community Outreach

The Community Outreach Division was designed in 1978 to provide easy access to DSS services. At present there are nine out posted stations available to take applications for various programs throughout the community:

  • Mission Hospital
  • St. Joseph Hospital
  • Veterans Hospital
  • Buncombe County Medical Society
  • Thoms Rehabilitation Hospital
  • Emma Resource Center
  • Barnardsville Resource Center
  • MAHEC
  • Buncombe County Health Department

 
Community Outreach Services include:

 

  • Medicaid for the elderly and disabled
  • family and children's Medicaid
  • North Carolina Health Choice for children
  • Project Access referrals and Food Stamps

Monday through Friday
8:00am - 5:00pm

 
Appointment Procedure


Call or come by the office to pick up application

Verification of all income, resources and deductions are required at time of application.
