North Carolina's Star Rated License

Child Care centers are now being rated on a 'FIVE STAR' system, five being the highest and one being the lowest rating.

The purpose of the 'Five Star' system is to allow facilities the opportunity to showcase their quality as they work toward excellence.

This will enable parents to make an informed choice as they consider child care options.

There are two components that will be used to determine the 'Five Star' rating:

  • Program
  • Education
