Request for Qualifications - Real Estate Services

The County of Buncombe is accepting Statement of Qualifications for: real estate services in connection with the successful sale of property located off Ferry Road at 175 Bingham Road in Asheville, North Carolina as same is described in deed recorded in Book 5310, Page 500 and as shown on plat recorded in Plat Book 50, Page 107 Buncombe County Registry and as shown on the records of the Buncombe County Tax Office as PIN #: 9636-10-3860. 

The property is a 137.22 acre parcel currently zoned IND, Industrial, by the City of Asheville.  A Phase 1 environmental site assessment was conducted in 2014 and no contaminates were detected.

Buncombe County is seeking candidates interested in providing real estate sales services in order to select firms qualified to provide such services on the basis of demonstrated competence and qualification for the type of professional services required. 

Statements of Qualification will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2016 for the above-named services at the office of the Buncombe County Manager, 200 College Street, Asheville, North Carolina, 28801.  If selected, the County intends to negotiate a contract for these services at a fair and reasonable fee with the best qualified firm. If a contract cannot be negotiated with the best qualified firm, negotiations with that firm shall be terminated and initiated with the next best qualified firm.

Appropriate North Carolina licensing is required.  Buncombe County encourages submittals from minority businesses by providing certified minorities an equal opportunity to participate in all aspects of the RFQ process.

Submission Requirements.  A letter of interest must be submitted giving the qualifications, including the firm history, individual resumes, and an outline of residential, commercial and industrial sales experience in the area.  The submittal must also include a proposed fee for services which shall remain negotiable until such time as a contract is finalized.

Qualifications.  Applicants will be evaluated in conjunction with the anticipated needs of the County and information provided by the applicants as well as information obtained from references, persons, or other sources identified by the applicant or otherwise known by the County.
