The Buncombe Soil and Water Conseration District will hold its annual tree seedling sale March 3 and 4 at 49 Mount Carmel Road Office.
Dates & Times:
- Friday, March 3: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Saturday, March 4: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. or until out of stock
Seedlings are available on a first-come, first-served basis on the days of the sale.
Eastern White Pine seedlings are 50¢ each and the hardwood species are $2 each. The following species are available on sale dates:
- White Pine
- White Dogwood
- Eastern Redbud
- Persimmon
- Red Mulberry
- Elderberry
- Bartlett Pear
- Plum
All seedlings are bare root and range in height from 10 inches to 36 inches. March is the ideal time of year to plant bare root seedlings. Species such as Persimmon and White Oak bear fruit/nuts for wildlife.
There will also be a variety of berry plants there, including:
- Blackberry
- Raspberry
- Blueberry
- Strayberry
