What is the Farm Heritage Trail?

The Farm Heritage Trail is a year round scenic driving and cycling route through beautiful farming communities. The trail includes farm stops and seasonal events. The Trail passes by all of the conserved farms in Northwestern Buncombe County. The Farm Heritage Trail, a project of the Buncombe County Farmland Preservation Program, encourages both residents and tourists to visit, connect with and experience our farms.  We value the agricultural heritage and the future vitality of our farms.  We value farming and land conservation practices.  We value a thriving, local farming community that is both financially and environmentally sustainable.

Event Speakers Include:

  • Terri Wells, Buncombe County AG Advisory Board
  • John Ager, Buncombe County AG Advisory Board Ex Officio
  • Brownie Newman, County Commissioner Vice-Chair
  • Brian Turner, NC Rep. House District 116
  • Bill Yarborough - WNC Rep of NC AG Commissioner Steve Troxler
