Buncombe County Register Of Deeds

The people of Buncombe County’s most vital records are stored in the Register of Deeds’ Office. All Buncombe land transactions, births, deaths, and marriages are recorded there.

The office maintains:

  • real property index of the county, including deeds, easements, rights of way, and leaseholds
  • instruments of security such as mortgages and deeds of trust and conditional sales contracts
  • military service records
  • records of the office of notaries public and corporate records including charters, amendments and dissolutions, partnership agreements, businesses operating under assumed names
  • and various other record
