General Statement of Duties
Responsibilities are primarily case management activities for major industrial facilities which include inspections, permitting, and compliance. (#611) 

Special Requirements
Registration as a Professional Engineer with air quality experience is preferred, though not required. 

Examples of Work
Conducts quality assurance reviews of work performed by air quality specialists; includes permits issued, modeling reviews, facility inspection reports, and enforcement actions. Knowledge of air quality regulations including Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD), New Source Performance Standards (NSPS), National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) and State/Local air quality regulations desired. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Field activities require use of personal protection equipment and strict adherence to safety practices. Progressive, specific experience in air quality permitting, enforcement, field work and interpretation of regulations is necessary to be successful in the position. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills required.

Minimum Education and Experience
Graduation from a four year college or university in environmental science, engineering, or a related field, and at least three years experience in environmental control work or related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Within six months of employment must have satisfactorily completed the visible emission course approved by the USEPA. For all positions requiring a four year degree or above, that degree should be from an appropriately accredited institution.
