Take a Wildflower Hike with N.C. Forest Rangers

Our region many great resource in our own backyard for exercise, education, and just clearing your head, our local and state park system. If you’re looking for a fun excuse to explore, then join the NC Forest Rangers an upcoming free Forest Wildflower Hike.

The NC Forest Rangers will host a ¾ mile hike to observe and identify early spring wildflowers through a diverse ecosystem. You’re likely to see Oconee Bells, Trout Lillies, Bloodroot, and more. The program is limited to 20 people but if there is enough interest another hike may be offered. Best part, it’s free. While the guided hike will last two hours, you’re obviously welcome to explore the pathways of the park at your leisure for as long as you like.

It’s taking place on Saturday, March 23 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Holmes Educational State Forest. Address is 1299 Crab Creek Road in Hendersonville. For more information you can all 828-692-0100 or email holmessf.ncfs@ncagr.gov.
