Did you know that every Friday, the Asheville Art Museum hosts an Art Break event? It's a lunchtime informal gallery talk and presentation to both education and engage you in a dialog with either a curator, educator, or special guest.
As the Asheville Art Museum undertakes the process of inventory, packing and moving before the expansion, staff members are making new discoveries about the museum's collection every day. These Art Break events take place every Friday at 12PM.
- Friday, July 15th - learn about selections from the permanent collections: 140 years of American art. It includes 20th and 21st century impressionism in the period between WWI and WWII, post-WWII abstract expressionism, and even neo-expressionism and conceptual art.
- Friday, July 29th - Caragh Koon of the library system will present on architectural drawing collections.
