Community Conservation Assistance Program Signup

CCAPThe Buncombe Soil and Water Conservation District will be taking applications for the Community Conservation Assistance Program (CCAP) from July 1 - 31, 2014. The program is designed to help landowners address urban water quality concerns. Best Management Practices (BMP’s) include but are not limited to critical area plantings, rain gardens, storm water wetlands, and abandoned well closures.

This program is only a few years old and funds are extremely limited. Allocations for this program have been running around $4,000. The projects that have been selected through the ranking process have been very well received. For a list of BMPs, see the NCDA website.

If you want more information or wish to apply for funds, call the District office at 250-4785. Please call before the deadline. It only takes a few minutes to complete the application form. Forms can be mailed to you and accepted for consideration if they are received back in our office by July 31, 2014.
