The County has several vacancies on the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee. Members are appointed by the Board of Commissioners. Their work is very important to our community and consists of the following duties:

Help resolve matters of concern that may arise during a resident's stay in a nursing home.

Act as a link between the community and the home by seeking to increase community involvement and keep the public informed about aspects of the operation of nursing homes.

Meet every other month. Members are also required to make visits to nursing homes on an assignment basis. (If you have a relative in a nursing home or if you are employed by a nursing home, you are ineligible to serve on the Committee).
Anyone interested in serving on this committee is welcome to attend one of the classroom trainings held at the Land of Sky Regional Council offices on Leicester Highway. This is the same training that new members receive after appointment.
