Competing with public relations firms and the communication departments of the largest cities and counties across the Country, Buncombe County was awarded the Silver Circle and the Award of Excellence by the City/County Communication and Marketing Association.
Awarded for outstanding graphic design and electronic media for the Slave Deeds Exhibit, the judges said that this unique project combined artful storytelling and excellent graphic design to reflect on the county's past. "An example of excellent communications bringing an otherwise dry and uncomfortable part of history to the public forefront."
This project is on display at Pack Library in downtown Asheville.
