Garden Tour - June 22Saturday, June 22 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Rain or Shine

Starting Point:  Isaac Dickson Elementary School, 125 Hill Street, Asheville

This 4th biennial Garden Tour is the BIGGEST EVENT OF THE YEAR for Buncombe County Extension Master Gardeners. Six gardens will open for this self-guided tour:  three residential, one school, and two bed and breakfast inns.

On tour day at Isaac Dickson School you can purchase tickets, pick up your tour booklet, purchase gently used garden books, visit an EMG information table, watch a tree pruning presentation, and purchase garden related merchandise from several tour sponsors. Then begin your tour:

  1. Isaac Dickson School Garden - Veggies, fruit, living roofs and chickens
  2. Residential Garden - Beekeeping, composting and rain barrels
  3. Residential Garden - Raised vegetable beds, terracing on steep slopes and storm water management
  4. Residential Garden - Shade gardens, plant collections, and "garden magic"
  5. A Bed and Breakfast Garden - Historic landscape, mature trees, gardens and water feature
  6. A Bed and Breakfast Garden - Extensive water feature, koi pond and greenhouse with a large orchid collection

There will be art in each garden, and docents to answer questions about educational topics.

Advance tickets are $15. Day of tour purchase at Isaac Dickson will be $20. Click here to purchase online through June 20. You will receive a "confirmation" via email that should be printed and presented at Isaac Dickson on tour day. 

You may also purchase tickets with cash or check at the Buncombe County Cooperative Extension Service Office at 94 Coxe Avenue in Asheville through June 21.  (Free parking for your visit in the lot across the street.)
