Community Emergency Response Team Training (CERT) is a 24-hour course designed to train individuals to be able to care for themselves, their families and their neighbors in the first 72 hours immediately following a large-scale emergency or disaster. This is the time when emergency response resources are most severely taxed and there may be delays in responding due to the volume of calls. During this time period disruptions in infrastructure can also delay or prevent emergency responders from reaching certain geographic areas.
The classes will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7 - 10 p.m. on June 19, 20, 26, 27 and July 17, 18 and 24 on the A-B Tech Enka Campus – Haynes Building Room 226. Attendance at all class sessions is required and registration is “First Come-First Serve” with a limit of 20 participants.
