The new Public Safety Training Facility Ribbon Cutting will be held on October 16 at 11 a.m. Everyone is invited to come see this outstanding facility where first responders and emergency personnel from all across the region will be trained in how to efficiently and effectively respond to the emergency needs of our community.
The new 30 acre facility is located at 20 Canoe Road, off Riverside Drive adjacent to the Craggy Correctional Center. The training facility is for law enforcement, fire service, emergency medical services, hazardous materials emergency response teams, and other rescue and emergency personnel.
The training center includes live fire burn buildings for residential, commercial, mobile home, and high rise buildings; flammable liquids simulator; road and skills courses; and other facilities that will accommodate state-of-the-art training techniques and foster teamwork across the various disciplines of law enforcement and emergency response.
The October 16 ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. with demonstrations and tours immediately following.
