Geographic Information Systems
The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Group is part of the Information Technology Department. We provide GIS application support, web development, coordination, technical, and user support to the agencies and departments comprising Buncombe County government. Our duties include developing and maintaining GIS databases and applications that enhance the ability of the County to manage resources wisely, and enhancing, improving, and exchanging GIS information among local government organizations. We also provide citizens with county data via our GIS Property Information System website.
