COPS Team Meeting in Swannanoa - Aug. 20

The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office will be holding a follow-up community meeting at the Swannanoa Fire Department, Bee Tree Station, on Tuesday, August 20 at 6:00 pm to share findings from their Community Oriented Problem Solving (COPS) team assignment.  The COPS team has been in the area for the past 30 days identifying key issues and speaking with community leaders and residents in an effort to address any enforcement issues the residents of Swannanoa have.

Sheriff Van Duncan, as well as the Sheriff’s Office command staff, will be in attendance to hear the COPS team’s findings.  The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office utilizes this problem solving based approach to address issues in specific communities.  Each COPS Team works in a particular community for 30 days, identifying key issues, speaking with community leaders and residents in the community, creating an action plan, and then presenting their findings and suggestions to the community at the end of the 30 day period.

Sheriff Duncan and the COPS team look forward to meeting with members of the Swannanoa community on August 20 at 6:00 pm at the Swannanoa Fire Department.
