The Buncombe County Firefighters Association is helping to develop a memorial at
the new Buncombe County Public Safety Training Facility.
The memorial will be a lasting tribute to the emergency services personnel (Fire, Law Enforcement, and EMS) who have been lost to the line of duty in Buncombe County and to those who continue to provide protection to our citizens.
The memorial will be a stone structure to signify the strength of the emergency services personnel. A fountain will identify the continuous care and compassion which they provide. The fountain will flow into a pool which symbolizes their continuous dedication and an eternal flame will signify those lost in the line of duty.
The memorial will be made possible by donations in honor of these personnel. Anyone interested in becoming a sponsor of the memorial can contact Mark Dillingham at mdillingham@skylandfire.com or 606-0471. The Buncombe County Firefighters Association is a 501-C3 organization.
To purchase of an engraved brick that will be used to pave the walkway and area surrounding the memorial, simply fill out the form attached below. To learn more about this memorial, watch this video.
The Public Safety Training Facility is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2012.
