Free of charge and open to the public, the classes will focus on bringing Medicare beneficiaries up-to-date information for 2012, review Medicare Medicare beneficiaries, care givers and others who help those with their Medicare insurance should consider attending this informative class.options, suggest ways that beneficiaries might save money and answer any questions they may have regarding the program.

The Council on Aging in conjunction with the Buncombe County Library and Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) is presenting this series of classes on Medicare for 2012 to be held throughout Buncombe County during the month of October:

  1. Leicester Library – October 4 from 3 - 5 p.m.
  2. West Asheville Library – October 6 from  3 - 5 p.m.
  3. Weaverville Library – October 11 from 4 - 6 p.m.
  4. Pack Library – October 14 from 2 - 4 p.m.
  5. South Buncombe Library – October 15 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. 
  6. Fairview Library – October 18 from 6 - 8 p.m.
  7. Black Mountain Library – October 24 from 1 - 3 p.m.
  8. Pack Library Computer Lab – October 29 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. (for people wishing to enroll or change their Part D Drug plans)

The Council on Aging, serving Buncombe County since 1964, provides services to residents of Buncombe County age 60+ years.
