crisis intervention -The Crisis Intervention Program (CIP) provides assistance to low-income households that are in a heating or cooling related emergency.
emergency assistance - Buncombe County Department of Social Services, with the help of ABCCM contracted services, oversees the distribution of Emergency Assistance funds as they become available to our community. These funds are for families in short-term financial crisis due to unusual circumstances.
energy assistance - The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) provides for a one-time cash payment to help eligible families pay their heating bills. This payment is usually received in February of each year.
