Pack Memorial Library will offer help sessions for digital e-books and downloadable audiobooks in August. Downloading digital magazines from the library will also be covered.

Thursday, August 27 will cover Windows 7/8/RT, Mac OS X, and sideloading.   You will learn how to checkout an e-book or audiobook on a PC or Mac and then sideload, or transfer, the book to a media devic

Thursday, September 3 will cover the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.  (We will NOT cover iPod Nano/Classic in these classes.  For those devices, please plan to attend on September 17.)

 

Thursday, September 10 will cover Android devices, such as the new Samsung Galaxy Tab Nook, and Amazon’s Kindle Fire.

 

Thursday, September 17 will cover Windows 7/8/RT, Mac OS X, and sideloading.   You will learn how to checkout an e-book or audiobook on a PC or Mac and then sideload, or transfer, the book to a media device.  

These free sessions will be held from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm in Lord Auditorium at Pack library in downtown Asheville.

Classes will begin with a live demonstration of how to set up your device to loan digital books and magazines and a walkthrough of the loaning process, followed by individual help.  If you’d like individual help, please bring your iPad, Kindle, laptop, tablet or other device and your library card.   Instruction on how to use the NC Digital Library and Zinio Newsstand will also be given for each device.
