The Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program at the Buncombe County Department of Health helps to save lives of women through early detection.  The program provides free breast exams, PAP tests for cervical cancer, and mammograms for women who:

  • are between the ages of 40 to 64,
  • have little or no insurance, and
  • meet certain eligibility requirements

Other women ages 18 to 39 may also be eligible.

Patients must be seen by this program before a cancer diagnosis has been made anywhere else in order to be eligible for BCCCP Medicaid”.

We make it easy to get the quality care that women need.  If needed, we will provide referrals and follow-up appointments with qualified professionals.  Referral services are also at no cost for women who qualify for the program.

Women who qualify for BCCCP and are 40 to 64 years of age, will also qualify for the Wise Woman program.
