Buncombe County Recreation Services puts on a great holiday light show at Lake Julian every year, called the Festival of Lights. You can drive through Lake Julian and see all the beautiful holiday lights through the entire month of December, however, they're kicking off the event with a walk-through.

- Thursday, December 3
- Begins at Sunset
No cars allowed for the walk-through, besides, if you drive you could miss Santa, who will make an appearance. Not only will there be a big fire to roast marshmallows and make s'mores, but you'll be greeted with holiday music, hot chocolate, and the Easel Rider, which is the City of Asheville's mobile art lab.
So come out and enjoy the cool weather and beautiful holiday lights with the entire family. For more information about the Lake Julian Festival of Lights, visit buncombecounty.org/park, or give their office a call at 828.250.4260.
