On September 27, 2005 the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution authorizing the electronic posting of advertisements for piggybacking and surplus auctions on the County website in lieu of publishing legal notices in local newspapers. This resolution is backed up by North Carolina General Statute 143-129(g) as amended.

Electronic Advertisement for Bids

Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 143-129 and 143-129.8 as amended, sealed bids and proposals will be received by the Purchasing Division for the County of Buncombe for the following:

Notice of Piggyback Contract

The Buncombe County Board of Commissioners, at the regular meeting on June 3, 2008, will consider allowing the Purchasing Agent to piggyback on an existing contract in accordance with NCGS 143-129.

The Board of Commissioners has received a request for approval to piggyback on an existing contract from the City of Charlotte, North Carolina, with Fuelman, for the purpose of purchasing fuel for Buncombe County use.
