Buncombe County Public Libaries
General Info / card account online
Click here to access the card catalog and your library account
To check your library card account, you will be prompted to enter your User ID, which is your library card number found on the back of your card (type it in with no spaces); and a PIN, which is the last 4 digits of your home phone number. (If the last 4 digits of your home phone number don’t work, it’s probably because we have an old phone number for you on your record. Please let us know and we can correct that.) Once you have successfully logged into your account, you can change your PIN to anything you like – numbers, letters, words – whatever is easy for you to remember.
Once you log in, you may search the card catalog or renew materials. To renew materials select “My Account” from the right hand side of the menu bar. To place a hold on materials, select “Search/Home,” and search the catalog. Once you find the item you would like to reserve, select the “Details” of the book on the left, and then on the detail screen select “Place Hold” (also on the left). Holds are free and you may have up to 3 holds in the system at one time. Only books and audio books may be put on hold, videos and music CDS are not available for holds at this time.
If you have any problems or questions call the Reference Desk 250-4741 or email library@buncombecounty.org. You can also get a personal tutorial on how to access your account the next time you come into the library – just ask at the desk. We want everyone to be able to get into their accounts so we’re happy to help.
